Physical Description:
Duncan is a rather ordinary man. He is of average height and appears to be of average build. He shaves bald and tends to wear fancy hats that have a bit of flare, but he also dresses quite normally. His clothes tend to be on the fancier side but they are by no means gaudy. He will always have a short sword of fine craft at his side and he will never be without a minimum of 5 daggers, although they may not be apparent. He has a cordial air about him and can be quite friendly and charming.

History:
Duncan grew up on the streets of Coopersville as a young lad. His parents orphaned him at an early age and he grew up with street thugs and thieves. From them he learned his current trade and made a living off pickpocketing and burglary. In his teens, he became a member of the Burning Arm and was with the guild for the many years while they were functioning in and around Coopersville. When the IMG and the OS invaded the Burning Arm guildhall and following the successive coup, Duncan fled for his life and ended up in Western Lithar.

While in Western Lithar, Duncan came across a town called Carleon, which was a busy town and center of commerce in the area and he quickly set up shop and began his trade. After about a year, he began gaining followers and quickly set up his own thieves guild in Western Lithar. Around this time, Nalia (one of the lone BA members left) met back up with him and between the two, decided to begin the BA once more. Nalia had no desire to be in one spot and run a guild so she handed it to Duncan and Duncan became the guild leader of the new BA.

Over the next few months, Duncan contacted some of the former members and contacts of the BA and began to reorganize things. He now resides in the main guildhall located west of Carleon.

WPs: Dagger, blowgun, dart
Languages: Elven, Common and slang, Orc, Goblin

Physical Description:
Vanora is a lithe, young elf maiden. She no longer desires to look innocent but will stare at men and women alike with a smoldering stare that speaks of her lusts. She keeps her black hair cut short and if necessary will alter the length with Glamour spells. The lithe young woman dresses mostly in silks and revealing clothing as would be expected.

History:
Vanora grew up inside of Edilar and began traveling as her parents took her around to see the many different places in Thardferr. As the Third Mage War began, Vanora was involved with a very handsome elven man but he decided to go away to war along with many others despite her wishes and pleadings. When he never came back, she was heartbroken. At this time she claims that she was visited by a incredibly lovely maiden that told her that her heart would only be broken more should she desire to love another, and that she would be better off by breaking everyone elses hearts. This idea appealed to Vanora and she was never sure of if the vision was real or just a dream but from that day she set out to become a priestess of Ajoetis. She met up with another seductress and learned from the woman, eventually becoming wise enough to travel on her own. In time she came to reside in Rattletown Branch and opened her own brothel in the town called the Everpleasant.

After having run the brothel for awhile and gaining quite a bit of fame, as well as infamy, Vanora was one day approached by a man calling himself Duncan. He proposed that she should join his guild and become a front and in return, should she need any services or a favor, she would have help. Vanora decided to join and was appointed as a guild leader in the area, told to keep in contact with Duncan or the other two guildleaders, Tanis Gillum and Kenzie Tozelm.

Physical Description:
Kenzie is rather exotic looking. She wears a flamboyant red shirt with a blue vest. The shirt begins at the neck, not covering sleeves and ends just below her breasts as to not expose them. She wears a red mini skirt that goes just a little lower than her pelvic region but anyone looking for a peek won’t see much due to blue undergarments. She has long red hair that she keeps in a braid running down her back. Her eyes are steely grey and are lit with an inner fire.

History:
Kenzie was born in Riveringtown but did not actually grow up there. She instead was taken to Hilltownforge where she was raised by her parents. At the age of 10, her parents were killed as they were traveling to Western Lithar by highwaymen and the highwaymen left Kenzie there to die on her own. She was picked up shortly after by Duncan as he was traveling west. Duncan was a kind heart and took her in, but began trying to train her to be a thief like him. She could not pick up on any of the thieving skills that he tried to teach her but she quickly learned how to fight. Duncan gave up trying to teach her and instead brought in fighters from the area to train her. As she grew up and Duncan started to rebuild the Burning Arm, Kenzie naturally followed him into the guild and was soon placed as the guild leader of the Carleon branch. Since the main guildhall is in Carleon though, Duncan is usually running the operations from there and Kenzie is left to roam around the land or perform different tasks.

Background
Tannis: The Pawn
Unlike other human girls in the city of Coopersville Forge, Tannis had a relatively easy youth. Her parents were both members of the upper class of society -- her father was a rich and powerful merchant and her mother was a respected arbitrator. Her parents kept Tannis isolated from the violent skirmishes of the streets, but they watched with fascination the subtle political maneuvering that took place in the courts.

Tannis witnessed the Machiavellian schemes that her parents involved themselves in. Her early childhood was warped through a lens of deceit, lies, and manipulation -- both of her parents treated Tannis like a pawn and she soon learned the only person that she could trust was herself. The only individual who Tannis considered a friend was a kindly old court minstrel who did not involve himself in any of the behind-the-scenes plotting. Tannis spent more and more time with the bard, learning a variety of instruments and stories, and she discovered that she had a remarkable talent. Tannis treated the bard better than most at the court, but she was still cruel and demanding with the old man.

One day, Tannis' parents told her that she was going to be sent to a distant city to further her education. She soon discovered, however, that she was considered "insurance" for one of her father's shady business deals. Tannis refused, stating her teacher was training her to be a bard. Her parents relented for a few weeks until the old bard died under mysterious circumstances. They made their demands again, and this time she had had enough. Tannis slipped out of the lavish wealth of her manor home and hid among the squalor and violence of the streets.

Tannis: The Informant
For several years, Tannis lived in the back alleys and seedy warrens of Coops. Her once soft frame hardened from her harsh existence. The only way that she could live was by using skills that she learned from the old minstrel -- she sang and played her beaten fiddle on street corners, begging for the odd copper. Her haughty and cruel nature helped her to survive on the uncaring streets.

Over time, Tannis became a familiar figure in numerous taverns and seedy inns. She kept hers eyes and ears open, occasionally selling information to a small group of clientele. Her status as a "mere bard" allowed her to blend into the background when no one was paying attention. She listened in on countless conversations, and her cunning wit and charisma drew out more information from many drunken mouths.

Once, after a particularly fine performance, Tannis was rubbing elbows with various criminals and thugs. Her smooth smile suddenly creased with alarm when she felt the tip of sharp blade pressing into her back. Tannis was forced into a back room and found herself confronted by a dark clad and deadly looking figure. The knife wielder revealed himself as Mezriss, a member of the mysterious and deadly group of assassins called the Scars. He told Tannis that the Scars had been watching her for awhile and wanted her to join their operation. Tannis' initial reaction was to say no, but the enormous bag of gold and gems that Mezriss tossed in front of her feet quickly reversed her decision.

Tannis: The Spy
Tannis worked full time for the Scars, but she never revealed to anyone her true status. She still moved easily between the various social strata of Coopserville Forge and found her way into the royal courts. Although she had killed on behalf of the Scars, her usual role was to gather information about a target or act as a distraction while the assassination took place.

Unfortunately, Tannis' informants failed to notify her of a plot by a coalition of upper class Coops citizens and the Order, who hired a stranger to deal with the increasing power of the Scars. This stranger, a dwarf named Lurdan, quickly began cleaning up the town, disrupting the Scars faster than anyone could have imagined.

Tannis tried to find out as much as she could about Lurdan. While another member of the Scars infiltrated the Order disguised as a servant, Tannis bribed, threatened, and extorted information out of anyone that she thought might know something about the dwarf investigator. Just before the final battle between the Scars and Lurdan, Tannis received information hinting that the humble dwarf was more than he appeared. Apparently, Lurdan (or figures that looked just like him) had been seen in cities far and wide. On more than a few occasions, he had even been "killed," only to reappear again under a different name in a different city. By this time, the Scars were making their way to the warehouses, planning to catch the dwarf alone, based on a tip by their main informant, Zola.

Tannis arrived at the warehouses too late to help her fellow assassins, and she watched the dwarf spring a trap. Several members of the Scars were killed or captured by the Order and the mysterious dwarf, but Tannis eluded capture, vowing to destroy the dwarf and the Order.

Having been known by the Burning Arm, but never sought out as competition due to the differing areas of activity, Tannis made her way to the last known area of the BA. Recognizing her abilities and reputation, Tannis was directed to Western Lithar to meet with the new head in Carleon. After some time and quite a bit of traveling, Tannis met with Duncan and was granted a position of authority, that of guild leader in Coops, after proving her skills by assisting in the assassination of an Order colonel in Celusia.
