High Court of the Order
It is believed by most that the High Court resides within the walls of the Order’s Headquarters at Coopersville Forge, but this is not so. The need for maintaining a repository of knowledge and law is of utmost importance, yet this information should also be kept safe. With the Headquarters being an obvious target, the High Court documents are maintained away from the Headquarters in a vault of sorts in the town of Thantry.
This august body of lawmakers is comprised of five High Magistrates, the top officials in all matters of law in the land. In addition to these five High Magistrates, a rotating staff of Magistrates and Adjudicators are constantly submitting, reviewing, revising and counseling on creation and implementation of new laws, as well as determining the validity of older laws.

Background:
Anastasia is the daughter of a former Order officer, Iver Tharn. Because of the long days of the Third Mage War and the ever-present reinforcement of the need for honor and duty, Anastasia joined the Order as soon as she was old enough and quickly rose through the ranks because of her prowess with mediating disputes and avoiding violence as an intervention.
Deeming her talents at oratory and leadership as exemplary, the Order permitted her into the ranks of Adjudicators at the young age of 21, and from there her career in law and diplomacy only improved. Eventually, her status as Senior High Magistrate was gained by the successful mediation for the return of several “prisoners” taken by Ruch slavers in order to stop a full scale battle between the tribe and the offended village.
Anastasia’s primary facility in the High Court is to act as the lead for the High Magistrates and to help direct policies and laws. It is her voice that can be heard leading discussion and directing the line of thought anytime a particular law or policy comes before the High Court.

Background:
Kondis brings a unique perspective of Dwarven socio- and psychology to the Order’s council of law. As well as representing Dwarven interests to the Confederation, he also is constantly working to ensure proper formalities between the Dwarven kingdom and the Confederation. His position within the Order is a result of remaining with the Confederation even after the split of Khardfee from the rule of Torin Brand, as well his deep thought and insight to Dwarven psyche.
Although less cultured in the arts of polite diplomacy than his fellow Order member, Orchid Berrow, Kondis is quite capable of delivering his ideas and convincing others through his sheer knowledge and insight of events.

Background:
One of the brightest stars of the Order, Orchid acts as the lead diplomat and correspondent for the Order to the Emperor and his advisors in the realm of laws. Her abilities to convince and orate are second only to her understanding of the laws and the needs of the populace for more justice and representation.
With her position of lead diplomat for the Order, her normal training of weapons has been limited, opting for increased ability in her oratory and legal understandings. Her additional skills in singing and dancing often come in hand while attending to the people of the realm by performing the concepts of law and justice through music. When attending state events, her ability to move through the crowd of diplomats and emissaries with catlike grace and beauty creates a sense of trust and a desire to listen to what she has to say; a true diplomat for the Order.

Background:
As a student of the School of Environmental Sciences, Jha’ral is quite comfortable with working towards the benefits of the peasants and constantly seeking advantages for those that work in the areas of restoration and cultivation of the lands.
One of the few elves that did not return to Edilar when recalled during the period of isolation, Jha’lar felt it necessary to continue his efforts and interactions with the major populace of the land. By entering the Order of the Sword, he was able to stay in a position of relatively safety and obscurity by remaining in constant study and writing of laws, suggestions for improvements in the land, as well as researching concepts of preservation.

Background:
Garn’s presence in the High Court is one of representation for the warrior castes as well as being able to have first-hand knowledge of the laws that must be passed on to all Order members for enforcement. Often times, his uncouth and brash mannerisms are actually able to show the other members of the High Court that their actions and laws don’t only affect those persons of high status and great knowledge. With this near constant reminder, his presence is a welcome one to provide insight to the common man and the Order’s regulars
