The Zetetic Society is dedicated to uncovering the lost knowledge and history of Thardferr. Simply put, the word 'Zetetic' means 'seeker' or 'one who believes that true knowledge can only be acquired through scientific inquiry', which describe precisely what our guild is trying to achieve. The society's three main purposes are outlined below.

Accumulation and Preservation of Knowledge - The primary goal of this guild is to recover history lost to the ruin brought by the Mage Wars. The Zetetic Society seeks to archive and protect this knowledge so that Thardferrians may learn of their true origins and know how to avoid any mistakes of the past. Also, the information gathered by the society will assist members in their journeys and adventures. On occasion, the Zetetic Society will finance expeditions and research efforts to further this goal.

Exploration and Adventure - The Zetetic Society recognizes that knowledge cannot be found merely in obscure tomes or encoded scrolls. Therefore, the society promotes the active seeking of knowledge, artifacts and new lands. It is through the explorer, that Thardferr can expand it's knowledge of what lies outside our borders. Adventurers shoulder the burden of seeking out clues to our past and history long forgotten in ancient ruins. The society encourages and aids members of these professions.

Security of Thardferr - This is a minor point when compared to the other aspects of our guild detailed in this charter. However, it is critical to the survival of this guild to ensure the preservation of the Confederation. As history has shown us, it is only the united powers of Thardferr that can turn back the evils that would invade and subjugate us. The Zetetic Society, therefore, promotes peace between the races and harmony within Thardferr.

The guild is governed by two brothers: the guildmaster, Varrus, and the librarian, Locus. Together, they govern the direction of the Zetetic Society and own all guild property.
