Kaldinsky is the god of the knowledge and philosophy. He is said to know everything that has transpired and will transpire in the great workings of creation. Kaldinsky will  reveal but the smallest portion of what is needed to be known to those that he feels will use the knowledge to its best advantage. His wish is to have people discover and learn for themselves and so not be dependent on others for answers. Intolerant of ignorance, The Word goes to great lengths to educate all thinking beings of Kyranath but it is only the student with the intelligence and patience to learn the lessons of Kaldinsky that can rise above the ignorance of the world.

The Lorists (The Church of Kaldinsky)

CLERGY:  Cleric and Specialty Priest (Scribemaster)
CLERGY ALIGN:  LG, NG, LN, N, LE

Dogma and Beliefs:

The church is a center for learning all things, from art to zoology. Followers hope to gain wisdom from Kaldinsky, by listening to the teachings of his clergy who act as the speakers and educators of his knowledge Many believe that the pursuit of knowledge is in order to move forward in their own lives and not commit the same mistakes as others and so learn from the past to better the future. Through knowledge a person can gain insight not only information. The more you know the more you will understand and then the greater the possibility you will be to discover and uncover even more.
Knowledge is not to be hidden but shared and so it is important to know how to express yourself. Language is important as is the ability to record your thoughts. Using language through storytelling and the written word to share with others what you know is the greatest way to praise Kaldinsky and gain his favor. Thus not only the great thinkers and scholars but the storytellers are followers and worshippers of Kaldinsky. Not all can understand the great ways of thinking that scholars pursue. But even the simplest of minds can learn through the fables and tales told by mothers to children and around camp fires that teach common sense and lessons about life. Through parables, stories and fables, the Lorist and clergy of Kaldinsky are able to teach the least educated of peoples and bring knowledge and a greater understanding of the world to all.
Part of what Kaldinsky provides is the knowledge of things normally unknowable. Through him are people able to see things with other than sight. Glimpses into the future through means of augury, scrying, divination and dreams let those that worship Kaldinsky gain information or at least hints of things that no others can know. It is through Kaldinsky that the means of gaining any knowledge is provided and how the devout are able to manifest divine magics through their abjuration of the gods. Magic is an art, but it is an art that is steeped in scholarly pursuit and so Kaldinsky provides many of the teachings and enables the mages to increase their ability in the arcane.

Physical Manifestations:

No one knows what Kaldinsky may look like should he appear in some discernible form. Speculation has been the subject of philosophers and scholars. Kaldinsky has manifested as a clear, pure voice; indiscernible as either male or female and always heard by each listener in words of their own strongest language. The Word itself is always known-- though the meaning of the words strung together into sentences may be somewhat confusing. The thoughts of Kaldinsky are impossible to understand but he uses the languages of the world in an attempt to let them be known. This causes confusion and misunderstandings at times to those that hear the Word, of what Kaldinsky may be trying to tell his followers. Kaldinsky is manifest through his words and at times through his voice and so it is this that the Lorist perceives as their god.

Alters and Idols:

The alter and idol of Kaldinsky is both the same. It is a large stone podium with the representation of an open book on its upper surface. The alter is never used for sacrifice but only for the dissemination of knowledge. Books are placed upon it and read from during services or lessons. Many of these alters have writing engraved on to their surface which are the words that priests may have said while reading from 'The Book' at this alter in the past. The words from 'The Book' that are read at an alter are forever a part of it and those that can cast augury can hear these words if allowed to use the alter as their focus. For this reason many a pilgrimage is made to each of the alters that have ever held 'The Book" upon them in hopes of hearing everything the Word has ever spoken to his followers.

Major Centers of Worship:

Kaldinsky has a small temple in almost every town in Kyranath with any sense of progress and want for education. They build temples almost exclusively to provide a place for their schools and libraries. A temple, library or school devoted to Kaldinsky can be found in every city and town in five of the six Realms or Thardferr. Ruch, has none. The goblins, in their pride, see no need for Kaldinsky's presence, since they believe there is nothing that can be taught to them, and have opposed all attempts at building these structures. The largest temple is located in Cobbersoniatown, and is headed by Arch Dean Alifor Hunt (age 54), who is the leader of all the Lorist in Thardferr. Another large temple in Keytown, Tuth, is ran by Grand Dean Venisia Lornshire (age 42). There used to be a large Temple of Kaldinsky in Serriningtown on Norben Island before it was destroyed and the island sank into Blood Lake.
All temples of Kaldinsky are large affairs with multiple small chambers or outbuildings used for the teaching and housing of those seeking knowledge. A large central building, that doubles as assembly and worship hall, is surrounded by the complex that makes up the college. The worship hall id filled with pews all facing the central podium and alter and has many side alcoves or antechambers for specific tutoring.

Worshipers:

The Lorist is taught to be intolerant of ignorance in all forms. This sometimes gives the impression of arrogance, thinking themselves better than others. This is far from the truth. They only wish to stamp out ignorance before it has a chance to take root in the world, knowing that it is the cause for all sorts of hardship and discontent. A Lorist can be found in all levels of society but are rarely found in the wilderness. Rich and poor, noble and common, anyone that has a love of knowledge and a wish to better themselves through learning can be a follower of Kaldinsky.

The Clergy:

The clergy of Kaldinsky find purpose and duty within the society that gain them a great deal of respect. They fill the needs of many in the keeping of libraries, and running of schools. Most are teachers and scholars that provide for the education of any that can take the time and afford the lessons they have to teach. The church does not charge a price to educate as it is a divine duty they have, though they do ask for donations in order to maintain the schools that they run and students must supply their own books (when needed or possible), paper and writing materials.  The following are the two most important duties of every member of Kaldinsky's clergy:

Education - All priest of Kaldinsky try to teach any that will learn. They spend time out among the people, rather than cloistered whenever possible, trying to rid the world of ignorance. Most attempt to foster a love of learning in the population and try to attain some expertise and scholarly knowledge of at least one worthwhile subject.

Translation - The priests of Kaldinsky take it upon themselves to transcribe new works to various languages, in order to spread the power of knowledge. It is first through language that a person may learn, then by the written word and so translation and the teaching of the ability to read and write are important to the clergy of Kaldinsky. Most of the clergy will be fluent in at least two languages and may even be able to read and write in more than one. Of course this is necessary to be able to transcribe a book.

Church Hierarchy:

"He that doesn't learn from the past is doomed to repeat it." – Thurstin Aglivar, Grand Dean (674 NA to 735 NA)

The leadership of the Lorist is always given to those that have the most to teach. The wisest and most intelligent of Kaldinsky's priests generally make it to the highest levels of the church. It is their duty to discriminate knowledge and provide education to as many as they are able and see that the whole of the Lorist do the same. In order to be selected and approved a placement higher in the hierarchy of the Lorist, the priest must prove their knowledge through an oral examination before a panel of Deans. Those deemed unready are asked to continue in the position they hold now and continue their studies or to seek further enlightenment before they are once more considered for a higher position.

Student - Any follower of Kaldinsky is a student of the world. Each will attempt to better themselves through education.

True Student - A devout student of not only the world but religion and the Way of Knowledge is a True Student. They gain the ability to call on and receive divine spells from Kaldinsky (cast 1st-level spells). Many never rise in their ability to gain divine favor but continue to learn other skills and help in the community to enlist others to the ways of the Lorist. Some of the True Students take up the skills of recording knowledge through language. The church needs many Teachers, librarians, scribes and other craftsmen needed to preserve and spread knowledge. A True Student is knowledgeable in at least one field of study above that of common knowledge (has at least three intellectual NWP with a check based on Intelligence or Wisdom).

Scribemaster - Some of the True Student scribes are called on and blessed to be at one of the Instruction Day ceremonies. Most of these only hear the words of the Voice and write down what they have heard but a select few not only hear but are touched by these words. Their scribing is the purest of all that is written that day and not only did they record but found they could interpret the message they heard. These few become Scribemasters. It is the duty of the Scribemaster to preserve the words of the Voice and all knowledge throughout Kyranath. Not only are they to record but also to seek out and find new instruction to bring to the church and add to the Lorist libraries.

Teacher - The True Student that has achieved expertise in a subject and has the ability to bring that expertise to others becomes a Teacher of the Lorist. They are responsible not only for teaching their learned subject but also provide religious and spiritual needs to their students. Teachers are able to enthrall crowds with their exposition on the Lorist's ways (cast 2nd-level spells.) A Teacher is more knowledgeable than the True Student and has accomplished more in their studies (has at least four intellectual NWP with a check based on Intelligence or Wisdom or at least two with a check of 11 or better).

Professor  - The head of the Lorist classes, either attached to or separate from the temples are known as Professors. These clergymen are responsible for administering and teaching the classes for the subject they are as authority over as well as seeing to the religious needs of their community. Professors are typically able to write divine glyphs (cast 3rd-level spells). A Professor is knowledgeable in their studies beyond that of a Teacher with multiple fields of expertise (has at least five intellectual NWP with a check based on Intelligence or Wisdom or at least three with a check of 13 or better).

Dean - Any of the clergy of Kaldinsky that has reached a position of trust and achieved higher education in not only the world and the ways of knowledge but also the ways of Kaldinsky and the Lorist is asked to head up one of the areas of a college or to start and run their own school. A Dean is at a level of understanding in the ways of Kaldinsky to be able to speak any language (cast 4th-level spells). A Dean is an expert in  multiple fields of expertise (has at least six intellectual NWP with a check based on Intelligence or Wisdom or at least three with a check of 15 or better).

Senior Dean or Head Master - A leader of a college with multiple departments of learning and other Deans under his authority but is attached to a temple or College is a Senior Dean. If they run their own school that is not attached to a larger temple or college then they are considered the Head Master. Both have equal power as Lorist and are equally respected.

Grand Dean - These priests are selected from all of the Senior Deans as the one to coordinate and head all church and college activity in a large regional area. There are very few of these and they are typically the highest level ever to be active in an area and traveling amongst the different temples and colleges. The Grand Dean is able to see the truth of anything through divine ability (cast 5th-level spells). A Grand Dean is at the pinnacle of scholarly study (has at least seven intellectual NWP with a check based on Intelligence or Wisdom or at least four with a check of 15 or better).

Dean of 'The Book' - When a person is given permission to read 'The Book', if they are graced with the ability and the Word id heard through them, they are allowed the sobriquet "of 'The Book'". Many of these positions are honorary or posthumous as the encounter with the Voice that blesses them and makes them a member of this prestigious few may drive them mad or kill them. In any case few walk away unchanged from the encounter.  In order to be able to read from 'The Book' a person must be able to speak to the stone pages and animate the book in order to allow it to open (cast two 6th-level spells). There has been lesser able Lorist that have read from 'The Book' either by the direct will of 'The Book', the aid of other priests or Divine Intervention. Also without reading from 'The Book', some are allowed to perform augury using a podium that was the place of one of the readings. At times these also are a channel for the Voice without the presence of 'The Book'. These also earn the sobriquet.

Council of Deans - Any Dean that has read from 'the Book" or had the Voice of Kaldinsky use his body as a channel for his Voice is automatically accepted as a member of the Council of Deans. Those that are still able to function as leaders after this encounter will sit as the collective administrators of the Lorist throughout Kyranath.

Lorist Dean - One of the Council of Deans is selected to lead the council and so the entirety of the Lorist. This person is considered the most learned of all clergy in the church and able to call on all divine magics of Kaldinsky (cast 7th-level spells). It is the Lorist Dean's duty to coordinate all the workings of the Lorist and see to the cooperation of every place of higher learning to bring as much knowledge and education to the world as possible.

Ceremonies and Holy Days:

The Oratory (Special)
Followers of Kaldinsky must show there understanding and comprehension of there lessons before they are considered True Students. This usually occurs when a person transitions from child to adult (typically age 14 for Humans) in their culture. The Student must conduct a public speech on any of the following subjects: art, history, language or philosophy. They are judged by their peers and public reaction, though it is customary to be polite and give encouragement regardless or overall performance.

Night of Figs and Fish (Nights of the Triple Full Moon)
Whenever the three moons are full (as well as the day just before and after), many Students and True Students gather after sunset, to take advantage of the bright moonlight. These followers will meet in temples and schools, praying and studying throughout the night. During this time, the only food allowed are figs and fish, which are believed to help information retention. At some point during the night a large meal of figs and fish is generally had and a time of sharing stories and explaining theories as well as debate ensues. Many of the more progressive and new ways of thinking were spawned during these nights.

Lorist Faire (Last week of Waloom through the first week of Provos)
During these two weeks, the Lorist gather in Cobbersoniatown to hold a grand festival. Many vendors come in order to sell their wares and goods. Members of the Church of Kaldinsky set up special booths where they teach the basics of reading and writing mainly in the Common tongue, usually showing a person to write and recognize their own name if nothing else.  They also teach ancient and local history, law and etiquette through storytelling and plays. Lengthier classes can then be arranged by those with interest, in many more complex areas of learning.
(During these classes, if a person applies themselves and has an open slot, they can gain a NWP. The kill learned may be from the following: Ancient History, Animal Lore, Astrology, Etiquette, Herbalism, Heraldry, Language-Modern, Local History, Reading/Writing-Modern or Religion and there is no crossover penalty. If they do not have a slot  at this time, then they can gain any one of these skills but at only a percentage chance of success equal to their Intelligence score. This allows them to gain it later without crossover penalty.)

Instruction Day (Virtool 12th)
This is a most holy day for all followers of Kaldinsky. Gathering in one of the temples, the worshippers hope to hear directly from Kaldinsky himself. This practice started hundred of years ago, just after the Second Mage War, when a book was brought to the temple by a female elf named K'ryste M'lor for their safe keeping. Priests could not read it, and it was reported that Kaldinsky himself spoke through those who attempted to do so. This news was taken as a great blessing until they found that each that had the Voice speak through them either went insane or died. But on one day, at one attempt, a priest read the book in the open while worshippers looked on and instructions on the proper care and use of the book were given along with a warning to keep it always in hiding and never in the same place year after year. It prophesied that there was a time to come when all books will be destroyed and this book needed to be preserved. This was Virtool 12th, 212 NA, and has since been known as Instruction Day.
On the anniversary of the Instruction Day, it is brought out of hiding and one of the most learned of the clergy given to read it while standing before the gathered Lorist. At times the priest will go into a trance and from him will come a clear, pure voice that is understood by all there and heard in their own language. The Voice will give divination, warnings or instruction for the following year or sometimes for things less understood or of future times.
Lorist began calling the tome simply 'The Book', which also became an alias for Kaldinsky since he seemed to speak through it. It is said the contents of 'The Book', and even it's true name cannot be read at any other time, for the presence of Kaldinsky speaking through the reader would either drive them mad or kill them.

Priestly Vestments:

The clergy of Kaldinsky wear conservatively cut robes or standard merchant class wear. They do not usually adorn themselves with jewelry or other ostentatious decoration and stay away from any outward show of wealth. The holy symbol is a large pendant that is sculpted in the shape of a quill laid upon an open book. Sometimes the book is only the square shape outline and the symbol is used as a cloak pin. The clergy of Kaldinsky rarely wear armor and tend to avoid combat when able but at need they can wear any form of armor. Most will only own light non encumbering armor such as padded and leather or studded leather, though.
Lorist Deans wear a scarf that they lay around their neck to hang down in the front without tying. It is of white with an edge or embroidery of different colors to show they specialty. Red trim signifies scholarship in the field of Chemistry and Metallurgy, orange is Earth Sciences, yellow signifies Biology, green the Environmental Sciences, blue scholarship in the field of Astronomy and violet trim signifies scholarship in the field of Physics and Engineering. Deans of 'The Book' have silver instead of white scarves and the Lorist Dean has a scarf of gold.

Affiliated Orders, Societies and Guilds:

Monks of the Quill - These Lorist students and priests spend long days copying and translating books into all the various languages. Cloistered in hidden monasteries, they guard their manuscripts and only send out completed copies through secret couriers to the various colleges and schools of Kaldinsky that order them.

The Seekers - These followers of Kaldinsky go on quests for, and investigate rumors of, lost books. Operating from Cobbersoniatown, they fund expeditions and seek out old manuscripts to purchase and preserve. The Seekers are a group of various skilled individuals, including warriors, mages, and scouts or treasure hunters. They adventure mainly for the return of lost information but area also out for their own personal gain and so are not above hiring out for other searches for items or people that are lost.

Church Errata:

Allies

Aranthis ***- The strongest bond between Aranthis and Kaldinsky lies in their alliance concerning the Magical Pentad of Gods. Often it is Aranthis and Kaldinsky at one end of the spectrum while Syth and Diadria sit at the other, with Praxin shifting sides as often as he does shape. Though their alliance in the Magical Pentad is strong, it is not their only common trait. After all, when a new idea is created or a new way is found to do something, someone has to record it. Like Kaldinsky, Aranthis also does not condone the destruction of knowledge, though Aranthis cares primarily for magical knowledge in this regard.

Celenia - Many of the followers of Celenia are healers and as such scholars in a field of study and so also Lorist. also Celenia is the preserver and provider for hop in the world and Kaldinsky sees the discrimination of knowledge as a means of preserving information and bringing hope as well. And so, these two gods aid each other in their goals, though Kaldinsky has a greater fondness foe Celenia in the alliance.

Hesneen- The servants of Hesneen are the backbone of society and the largest number of students outside of the Lorist. Kaldinsky spreads his teachings amongst the people that are serious about keeping their promises and oaths and so feels they will spread the information to their family and friends as a means of continuing society. Hesneen serves more as servant to Kaldinsky in this way but Kaldinsky does not take advantage of this and only tries to help Hesneen with his knowledge.

Kreaon ***- The Creator represents the setting into place of the undeniable truths of reality, it is the god Kaldinsky that records them and makes them able to be learned by living thinking beings in the cosmos. Only through the principles of Kaldinsky's learning and knowledge may the secrets of the Creator ever be known. Allied in their presentation of the truth and wanting al things to be brought to the light, these two gods are great allies.

Telk - Inspiration and invention comes form knowledge. The inventor must learn how to apply his ideas to make them a functioning whole and so the God of invention and the god of knowledge must work hand in hand to bring about progress and a furtherance of technology. Working as partners, Telk and Kaldinsky are the main forces behind modernization and most revolutionary insight into new ways of doing things.

Foes

Ballog ***- Destruction of all is not a goal with which Kaldinsky can come to terms. Though most any other god may have some rational reason for what they do, Kaldinsky cannot fathom the reasons behind Ballog. With a loss of anything at all there is a loss of knowledge and so Kaldinsky must fight against the actions of the Destroyer.

Maldread- Maldread would have all knowledge suppressed, kept hidden and undisclosed until such time as it is needed to perpetrate an even greater deception than its not being known. Kaldinsky would teach the world to read and write, to learn as much as they can and spread that knowledge as far as they are able. Maldread and Kaldinsky are forever doing a dance through the release of misinformation against true knowledge.

Praxin ***- When cataloguing the world and putting everything into its proper place and list, Kaldinsky is always coming upon the alteration of something thought to already have been known in all ways. This is the cause of Praxin. Praxin continues to introduce changes to the known and so makes what information was thought to be fact, incorrect or in need of revision. This causes no end of irritation for the Lorist. THough Kaldinsky invariably enjoys the challenge of discovering something new he would rather see it be created and not changed form what was known before. Praxin is thus a great pain to the completeness of Kaldinsky's knowledge.

Sembral- Battle causes damage and damage brings loss. When ever there is war there is always the forgetting of some knowledge or the death of those that new things that no one else knew. Kaldinsky stands in the way of this loss and so in the way of continued battle which Sembral inspires.

Appendix 3: Outer Realm of Kaldinsky

Gnosis and the Grand Library

The Realm of Kaldinsky is less an Outer Realm in the Abyss as it is a state of being. While other gods have staked out territory and some even have conflicts and wars over their boundaries, Kaldinsky's worshippers continue to gain knowledge even after death. Much is revealed to them once they reach his Grand Library in the Outer Realms and all that they had wondered or been unsure of is answered there but not all knowledge is then given to them. Much is still hidden or yet to be learned. The worshippers journey through the Abyss, into and through other godly realms and pursue greater knowledge. They are lead by divination and the ability to detect what they need in their travels in the Outer Realms. When they have more to add to the great storehouse of knowledge that is the Grand Library and Kaldinsky's home, they return there and write it down.
While journeying through the state of Gnosis, the Lorist is unobserved by those he may be studying and never interferes with them. Even  when returning to the living realm these spirits are only felt as a sudden realization that there is something to be learned here and otherwise unnoticed. The spirits of Lorist, invisible and undetectable, in the state of Gnosis go where they will and observe what they can attempting to understand and record everything that happens. They then go to the Grand Library and write it all down for safe keeping and for all time.
The Grand Library is more than a single large library, it is a group of vast halls lines by scrolls and tomes, that include the recorded perceptions of every Lorist that has ever been and will ever be. Though the words of those yet to have been written are closed to all but Kaldinsky to read.  In this estate is the home of Kaldinsky. It is not a separate Outer Realm created by Kaldinsky but is only a small area given to him by Ostran and located in Vellenwood. It is surrounded by a fiercely rapid flowing stream of water put there by Aqualie, that serves as a moat to keep it secure. Above the water is the vastness of the Celestial Sea and so it is almost impossible to enter by means of walking or flying and only by Kaldinsky's will can the draw bridge be lowered to allow entry.

Appendix 4: Book of Kaldinsky

'The Book'

Just after the Second Mage War, a book was brought to the temple of Kaldinsky in Serriningtown on Norben Island by a female elf named K'ryste M'lor. Priests could not read it, but it was reported that Kaldinsky himself spoke through those who attempted to do so. This news was taken for a great blessing by the Lorist until found that each that had the Voice speak through them either went insane or died. But on one day, at one attempt, a priest named Thelagro after a great deal of study and research, read the book in open hall while his students listened. Instructions on the proper care and use of the book were given to him that day through a voice not his own, that came from him while he read. Also a warning to keep it always in hiding and never in the same place, year after year was given. The Voice prophesied that there was a time to come when all books will be destroyed and this book needed to be preserved. Part of the instruction was that once a year, on this day, a priest of Kaldinsky should take the book to the alter within his temple and attempt to read it before the gathered worshippers. It was also stated that this should not be done in the same temple without seven years separating the readings. The time of the reading was called Instruction Day.
On the anniversary of the Instruction Day, which first fell on Vitrool 12th, 212 NA, the book was brought out of hiding and the most learned of the clergy, who had researched the means to read it was given to read it while standing before the gathered followers of Kaldinsky at the temple of Cobbersoniatown. This was a human, which many of the elves were much in disagreement about allowing the use of the book. But it was decided that the Voice transcended race and differences and needed to be shared with the world. The human priest was named Haretamin and became the second person to gain further instruction from the book. The ceremony continued after that, the book being put into hiding, and traveling to another temple each year. As the years passed the book came to be known as just that, 'The Book' and nothing else. Partly because no one had yet to decipher the symbols on its binding and also to help to keep it in secret when spoken of in passing.
At times the reader of 'The Book' will go into a trance and from him will come a clear, pure Voice that is understood by all there and heard in their own language. The Voice will give divination of the future or warnings that may be for a specific person or people. Sometimes, instruction for the following year is given but most times for things less understood or of future times are heard. The words are always recorded by scribes readied at this time and then sent to all Lorist temples of Kyranath and to every school and college of Kaldinsky for the scholars to study.
'The Book' also became an alias for Kaldinsky himself since he seemed to speak through it. It is said the contents of  'The Book', and even it's true name cannot be read at any time, for the presence of Kaldinsky speaking through the reader would either drive them mad or kill them. Certain magical properties of the book have caused those that read it to immediately gain knowledge and experience beyond their learning. For this reason many try to gain permission to attempt 'the Book', but few are granted such a boon. At times of great difficulty, 'The Book' may be read by designated persons on days other than Vitrool 12th, but these times are rare and what may happen to the priest is never known. Most either go insane, fail to be able to read it, have no Voice but say they have had personal divination of which they never speak, or die. Also the Voice and the Word, spoken from out of 'The Book' imprint themselves into the podium alter of the temple from which 'The Book' is read and may be replayed through an augury spell on the Day of Instruction, bay any that are allowed to do so. On days other than Instruction Day, the spell divination will bring forth the Voice and the Word that were spoken at the alter.
The Word is always recorded by scribes there at any time it is read and their interpretations of the Word and copies of what they heard sent to all Lorist temples of Kyranath, and every school and college of Kaldinsky for the scholars to study. At times one of the True Student scribes will gain a greater understanding or insight form the Voice while recording it. These are called into the priesthood of the Scribemaster and marked by Kaldinsky as his special servants.
For a time, during the years of the Syth occupation and the Third Mage War, 'The Book' was hidden away and lost to the Lorist. It was learned that the Syth themselves had heard of 'The Book' and ware searching for it. In their search they almost destroyed every library of Kaldinsky and most all libraries throughout Thardferr. But because of the prophesy, 'The Book' was hidden away. For nearly 9 years it was lost until returned by an elven priest of Kreaon named Marcus Menthos, that was part of an adventuring group that found it.
'The Book' itself is a large tome about 22 inches square and eight inches thick. It is made of thin sheets of some unbreakable stone, engraved with tiny symbols only a few can ever be able to discern. The book will only open on its own or the urging of certain priests of high divine spell ability. The outer binding is of dark brown polished agate and the pages within of pure white alabaster. It weighs 45 pounds and has 96 pages covered with minute indecipherable symbols.
